I will be putting wide pine in two adjacent rooms that share a doorway. The doorway is parallel with the way the floor will be laid (perpendicular to joists).
Because of logistics (we can only clear one room at a time) I think I should be starting at an outer wall of one room and heading toward the doorway, and then starting from the other outside wall and heading towards the doorway.
I know the T&G will have to be dealt with, since it will reverse direction at door. I figured I'd cut off the T/G from those middle boards before I put them down, with no threshold.
Does this sound right? Anything I need to be aware of when approaching the doorway from either room?
I plan on finishing each room separately, and would appreciate any tips on blending one room with another. I will sand as needed, and be using waterlox with stain in initial coat.
This is a great site. Thanks to all the pros who help out here.
