I'm installing a prefinished floor before placing my cabinets. I've bought enough masonite to protect the floor. Which side should go against the floor, the rough or the smooth?

I want to put it with the rough side down, but worry about dulling the prefinished wood.

smooth side down, If it is for protecting the floors and going to be rmoved when other work is complete put some rosin paper inbetween the floor and masonite. (make sure you clean every last spec of dust pefore the paper goes down

Thanks for the info.

I've only got one piece down and I'm going to go flip it right now.
