Hello,

We recently had engineered Maple flooring installed in August, 2014. Over time the flooring has continuously worsened and turned black. We were able to take a kitchen sink sponge and apply pressure and that removed what appears to be a film (A LOT of pressure was needed).

The floor finish that we used was Woca Master Oil (White) and Woca White Lye. When you lift up furniture/rugs the floor is in pristine condition. The cleaning company states they are using a separate mop to clean the maple flooring and they use Woca oil refresher (White) and Woca natural soap (White). Ebony oiled end-grain surrounds the maple flooring.

Please see links for pictures. ImageImageImage

Truly appreciate any help. We can't find a vendor that knows what is going on.

I dont have enough experience with Woca, but simply it is a hardwax oil ,like rubio and others and is a fairly simple process.

my first thought is cleaning improperly..

but you may want to contact Woca directly..they have a US division..maybe they can shed some light..

honestly, when you see the first pick it looks kinda cool, but i understand your frustration.

the only other possibilities are UV rays, or improper application..dry times etc

Definitely looks like it's getting a patina to me which is natural. Not much you can do about that but maybe screen it and do a new coat. In a commercial business dirt is expected and large windows add UV so it patina's. Rubio I believe has a UV additive, maybe woca does too. Often times that refresher and soap grab dirt if not done properly.
