Hi All, I have a job coming up in a couple weeks, Mahogany multi-width with French bleed and heavy bevels. I'm going to aggressively sand the floor to remove some DEEP dog scratches and other damage, re-groove the floor and French bleed the grooves again.
My question is - Does anybody have any advice on product and application for the French bleed? Total transparency here... I've never stained just a groove. Experienced responses only please.

I have removed the finish from the grooves by scraping with a triangle scraper, after using paint remover to soften the finish. I used a catsup or mustard bottle with the small tip to apply methylene chloride paint remover to soften the finish before sanding the floor.
If you hand sand with 60 grit and stain the grooves dark before you sand the floor you will have the grooves the right color. Scraping after the finish is softened by the paint remover will keep the grooves so you will not need to re-groove.
Fold 60 grit floor sandpaper into thirds so it is stiff when hand sanding. 100 grit will not keep the grooves straight.
