check refrences, ask for three at least and make the calls. With prefinished flooring there are more than a handfull of installers who are in the buisness that shouldnt be at all. also If you plan on spliting the job in two phases I would buy the material as one lot to insure color consisitancy. Some people will tell you they never have a problem with dye lots on their floors, believe me there is always that chance. I know for a fact that prefinished oak floors sometimes can be on white oak and sometimes on red oak, same product same item number ,two diffrent colors ,it just what they had available that day is what it goes on.
