Hate to say...May be wise to pull um up and re-install. Easier now then when all your finish work is done.

IMO those 2 boards aren't related to your RH. The problem is a result of not using adhesive under those planks, like mentioned earlier.

Hey....Maybe the location of the 2 planks will allow you access to shoot some glue under there ?

well maybe if i pull them up...but i hate doing that, i am considering going under the house and securing the board down with some screws...its not that it is horrible, hell my gf didn't notice it or care, she says she is tired of hearing me complain about it and every time i look at it she yells at me...but my name is on it and i want it perfect! i just can't imagine having to pull those boards up. im also having a hard time at the finish wall (opposite side) i am 4 rows away and all i have now is my finishin nailer (took the flooring nailer back(i rented it)) i found that i can shoot a 2 1/2 finish nail like the flooring nailer could, but i cant pinch the boards together tight enough, and face nailing just wont hold it... so im kinda stuck. im sure there are better tricks and ways to do this. errrrrr

Lots of tricks and different ways. You just need to ask the right questions. :P

Just think after you successfully pull and replace those planks you have all that experience under yer belt.

To pull a board tight for toenailing with a brad nailer...Take a scrap piece of wood and set it up against the tongue of the plank you want to pull in,( this protects the tongue from what I'm about to tell you). Take a big ole screw driver, pound it into the subfloor up against the tongue on the scrap, pull back, pulling the plank tight, and toenail away.

yeah thats a great idea!!!! and as far as pullin those other boards up, i would have to find one that is an exact length match.. and another thing that makes me mad is that these boards are prefinished and true to all wood and construction materials, vary a little in width so it might be kinda hard. what kind of adhesive would you recommend

Use PL 400 urethane adhesive, ( in the cartridges at big box).

There's a couple things you might consider trying 1st, before you take a saw to those planks,( hey, you might as well give it a shot).

1) A few more top nails, in strategic places, and get a good filler to hide the holes. But instead of shooting it with the brad nailer. Drill some pilot holes and drive in some finsh nails, then countersink. This will suck the plank down tighter than a nailer.

2) Get a horse syringe, stuff it with some urethane adhesive. Drill a hole, and syringe the glue in there. Weight it down over night.

i had thought of the first idea cause i think it may work, i got a bunch of filler, i would gladly do the second also over sawing, i hate pulling boards up and trust me i've done it...i guess really, is it gonna get worse? or will it just stay like it is?

Good chance it will get worse over time with movement. But yea, suck it down with some finish nails, you'll be good to go. Tough to live with something like that, especially in a walkway,it will drive you crazy, and you'll probably drive your gf crazy!

yeha you got that right!lol i've pinpointed where on the board the squeak is coming from so ima try to use a finishing nail to fix it.... also something maybe you might know about.... where i put my baseboards and quarter round down...if you step on the floor right next to it (no one will ever walk that close) it cracks and pops pretty loud i don't know why.. i didn't nail into the floor, i kinda think maybe the paint hadn't dried all the way and it adhered to the floor ...maybe? well anyways these last 4 rows before the end of the wall are proving to be a huge pain in the ass im scared i might end up with some cracks but i guess w will see... ill post when im all done.........soooooo many holes to fill :(

Go buy a DriTac repair kit from a local flooring sundry supply and inject it prior to fastening down with the finish nail. They supply the ultra small drill bits, syringe, some rather watered down adhesive and some dowels to snap off so your putty isin't to deep. Putty is your buddy.

Make mine a Jack and coke.

Dude ! You gotta fasten the planks tight to the floor, gravity aint gonna help ya :P

Here's the best filler on the market. I would give them a call and order a tube. If you go to HD and get a Behr chart, these guys will send you the exact color to match your pick on that chart.

well my issue is they didn't do it before... no cracking or creaking or squeaking ... the planks right beside the wall received face nailing every 6 inches. i know your right cause you do this for a living...i did it once so i won't argue your advise my only complaint is that i didn't stumble on this before...all my flooring know how came from a lowes video on youtube and a few online resources. im gonna check out that link you put on your post... i just want this stuff to last and no noises or cracks or buckling or anything like that!
