Hi,
I'm laying new Bruce prefinished hadwood flooring in very shody constructed home. I'm aware of leaving spacing along the walls for seasonal movement. My question, I have two shaved pine log support post supporting the ceilings between two rooms which the floor will cover both rooms. What should I be doing for spacing around the bases of these posts? Thank you for any and all help. Also I'll be starting on the longest wall and running parallel to it doing the entire house. The center walls looks like a giant + sign with passage ways between the 4 rooms. How can I start at the one wall and connect all the flooring in the adjoining rooms, without running into problems matching the runs after the first two rooms. I can guaenttee the house is not square in any room.
