I have an old house and recently started restoring the hardwood that was under the carpets. All of the hardwood is 7/16" thick Red Oak with a 2 1/4" width including the tongue(2" width not including the tongue). There seems to be no one who has what i need. For the time being i just need about 50 Sq/Ft to repair damaged boards. What should i do here, there has to be somewhere i can get these boards after all its just wood flooring I'm very surprised that its been this difficult to get thus far. As i said it is Red Oak and i know the floor was originally put in during the 1950's which probably doesn't matter but just trying to give as much info as i can.

i have found what i need but its 8/16" or 1/2" rather then 7/16" could i make it work since its only an extra 1/16" maybe sand it down a little more then the others when i refinish it? Or is this not an option?

Surely someone in your area has a surface planer. Ask around the lumber yards or cabinet shops. Mike
