we're doing a home renovation at the moment and tore out all flooring on the first and second floor, about 2900 sq ft... and we're having 5" wide unfinished hickory (3/4") installed.

the installers are using liquid nails subfloor and deck glue under the boards as well as nailing them.

they're about 80% done with laying it.

https://www.liquidnails.com/products/su ... adhesive-1

is this the WRONG glue to be doing this job with? should they be using something else?

i'm starting to have a major panic attack after reading a little bit about this.

please calm my nerves and tell me this will be ok...

This product will help with the implied guarantee that the floor will be installed in a workman like manner and not have installation issues in the future.
Some floor manufacturers recommend glue assist along with mechanical fasteners for solid flooring 5 inches wide and wider because of expansion and shrinkage properties of the wide boards compared to narrower strips of flooring since there will be half as many fasteners or less per square foot over the room since only one side of the flooring has fasteners.
The recommendations for this product from the manufacturer says glue will help hold the flooring in place.
