Is it possible to lay a new hardwood floor on top of an existing hardwood floor. The subfloor under the existing hardwood is 1x6 wood and in good shape. The house was built in 1923. There are a few areas that need to be leveled due to settling.

Anything is possible. What kind of shape is the existing hardwood in? Does it have gaps? Is it secure? Is the added height going to affect anything?
