I have a fireplace that sits diagonally in the corner of the living room, and that has prompted me to the idea of installing floating floors diagonally.

This will be my first DIY installation of wood floors. I have installed tile couple of times with a great success.

Any words of caution on why I should not do it diagonally? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.

Only thing I see is getting that last board pulled in tight one each row. Using a pull bar against a diagonal cut is difficult sometimes. It would mainly depend on what flooring this is, a glued-together butt joint or a glue-less rotating lock joinery.

Going underneath doorways is a bit more tedious for me on a diagonal. Go for it :) .
