I've been exploring different lasers for laying out and starting installations.. I've always used chalk lines up until now.. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a great quality laser? I've considered this one http://www.boschtools.com/Products/Tool ... x?pid=GTL3 cause I occasionally do some tile too and it would be nice to have one that works well for both laying out hardwood and tile.. Thanks in advance!

I have a couple lasers but what I don't like is that around twenty feet out the beam widens to much. For wood one line is all you really need. Haven't tried that one yet. Buy it and let us know how it works.

Thanks for the reply. Ya that's what I was thinking about just needing one line.. But I guess this would come in handily for laying on a 45. Not that we do that all that often. If I end up getting one I'll definitely let you know how it works. Thanks again!

I found that Bosch unit to be the perfect tool to lay out the diagonal inset field in my family room and perfectly align the track saw sections to edge that diagonal field.

Seeing the laser in the bottom of the cut trailing behind the track saw while cutting the hardwood gives complete assurance that the cut is being made exactly where it needs to be.

Thanks for the reply.. Looks really nice.. This is the one I think I'll go with. Does it have the option to just have a single beam, or is it always the 3 beams?

You can choose either 2 or 3 beams when on.
