Hi there

I'm looking for solutions for my particular problem.
heres the scoop. I have laid a floor at my cottage, I have used
2 inch thick Douglas Fir boards approximately
10 to 16 inches wide and 16 to 20 feet long. It is presently in the rough and I
will be sanding shortly, thing is there are some rather large spaces between the boards,
some up to a quarter to 3/8 s of an inch.
I don't mind them being there but when I finish the floor they will just be dust and dirt collectors.
can i fill with saw dust or something before finish.....?

any suggestions would be appreciated, remember its a rustic cottage.

thx in advance.

Sean

Id leave them alone. latex wood filer wont hold and if you get it to stay after the first season change the stuff will just crack and fall out. Take a good look at most old historic pine floors they almost always have 1/4" gaps here and there.
