I know, you guys never get questions like this. :-)

I just want to know if you think this can fix the issue. I have Bruce 3/8" Engineered Click and Lock Brazilian Cherry installed. A VERY large gap opened up about in the middle of the hallway to where it can pretty much be lifted up off the floor. (Hallway about 18' long, gap is probably 9' from either end, in the center)

I bought several of these:
Bessey SVH400XL SVH Flooring and Clamping System

Would using these be able to pull the floor back together?

or am I going to have to tear the floor up and reinstall?

I let the wood acclimate also for about 3 weeks before installing too.

Thanks!

Are we to assume this was a floating installation?

Which way do the boards run... down the hallway length or across / perpendicular?

Thanks for the response Jerry.

Yes, its a floating install. Engineered Bruce click and lock Brazilian Cherry. TBH, the gap is enough to where I can use a razor knife to remove the "lip" from the groove portion of the floor and apply a bead of glue to it so the boards can slide into each other (like how the instructions recommended to do when you go under a door jam).

They are installed down the hallway perpendicularly, I did this because that was how the floor joists are, I ran the floor perpendicular with the floor joists.

If you can get the bottom of the groove shaved off to glue it and the straps are long enough to hook onto something you should be able to get it back together. I would suggest using a hefty last board puller and a mallet.

I'm not saying you did or didn't .... but when installing a floating floor perpendicular in hallways every row should have a butt joint somewhere with this type of joinery. Doing this maintains the integrity of the floor by combining both side locks and end locks. This is a lot of cutting but keeps everything tight down the road.

I am assumiing you do have a baseboard around the perimeter right? I know it sounds like a hassle but you might have a recurring problem because of what Jerry mentioned with end joints in the field so I would pull it all out and reinstall with glue

Floor - I'm about 1/2 way done with my trim work and haven't gotten into the hallway portion yet.

Jerry - The straps are pretty long, 25'.

I was just wondering if the ratchet floor strapping things I got would be able to pull that gap together I guess.

Here's a link of the floor, I'll get one of the gap

if you look at this pic below, the gap is about smack dab in the middle of the hallway.

They apply 250 pounds of pressure. I would say the strap clamps are plenty.

Nope. Installing the wood perpendicular to the front door looks 100x better imho.

I have been attacked at the ankles by Chihuahua's. Nast mean critters. Used to run in packs in Mehico and bring down small game

Uhhh be careful using those verbs and your wife in the same sentence. It could be construed as ...as...well..... unprofessional.
