Hi, folks -
New here - nice forum. Just posted in the "Yikes . . . " forum, but this looks like the place the question should have been put. Can I use a buffer of some sort to buff out lap marks in a fifth coat of Oil base poly?
The fourth coat really looked good. I should have stopped there . . .

whoa, six coats of oil ploy is getting too thick, once you get over a certain level of build(usually three good coats of oil) you start to go downhill as far as durability and clairity go.

I wasn't intending to go that far - had planned on 3, but screwed up with the screening (not enough) and so had to do a fourth. I thought that it looked good, and I'm pretty fussy - customer thought we could do better, so . . . there we are with 5 coats. Is there a buffing procedure anyone knows of that will deal with lap marks? I'd hate to do a 6th!
