I've got someone who's looking to do a floating laminate floor in an upstairs full bathroom. From what I've seen on the net, some manufacturers provide instructions which dictate using silicone to caulk in all the expansion joints and gluing the seams. My question is - is this a wise idea in the long term? Will this floor hold up over the years? I've always had good luck with Wilsonart, but haven't done a full bathroom install. Which brands are better than others for this this type of installation?

TIA,

Jason

Years ago, the Formica brand warranteed their flooring in baths and kitchens. They used Titebond 11 instead of the usual white glue. Today, I don't really know. I have done Wilsonart in kitchens and a few full baths and told the customers that I don't not warranty the flooring in full baths and that they assume full responsibility for their flooring choice. Just my take on it.
