Hi all, I searched the forums for something regarding this but couldn't find anything. If this has already been answered, feel free to slap me around and send me to the right place.

Just purchased about 1000 ft of floor and realized that my kitchen cabinets sit on top of the existing tile. I've done a number to floors before in remodels but I've always ripped out the old cabinets and replaced them. This time the cabinets are staying and being refinished.

Obviously I'll be ripping out the tile, but does anyone have any great tricks for the tile around the cabinets? I figure I either get a grinder and try and cut the tile off close enough to the cabinets that a shoe moulding will cover (not a huge fan of this since the cabinets will be refinished and I worry about damaging them). Or I take a cold chisel and try and pop the tile around all the edges and hope it doesn't crack out all the tile underneath the cabinets...

Neither seems to be a great solution. Anyone had experience with this? Or have an idea I'm not thinking of? Thanks in advance for the help.

you need a Toe kick saw by Crain..

a Fein might do the trick as well with the right blades..but slower
