I'm a total newbie having never done an install, but I'm in the planning phase for my first go at it.

I'm looking to do a floating install using the Kahrs woodlock on a concrete slab.

What is the best underlayment for this?

I see Kahr's has a combo system underlayment that seems to combine a moisture barrier and some sort of pad.

How does this compare to their quietstride pad over a plastic moisture barrier?

Should I use both...i.e. put the quietstride on top of the combo system underlayment?

Help a dummy out guys!!!

Don't use both. Quiet stride is awesome stuff. It is hard for me to know if a floor is floated or glued when that has been used.

I like 10 mil polyethylene.

I don't believe that Kahrs will honor the warranty without using their underlayment. I put down about 450 sq ft of Builders Woodloc and used the combo underlayment. Seemed to work fine, though it doesn't look like much.

Quiet stride is a Kahrs product.
