We are getting quotes on a 2000 square foot job in our house with with Kahrs products. We are trying to decide on a light Oak or hard maple.

One of the suppliers mentioned a Kahrs product called Builder Choice. Its almost 40% less expensive than some of the Red Oak choices in the Supreme and Original line. They are going to get us a sample and more info. They said this is most likely a commercial version of the Original line. Same construction as the Original but discounted for commercial only type jobs. I can't find anything on it from the Kahrs site except for CSI reg specs. Anybody have any knowledge or experience with this product?

Thanks!

The builder collection tends to have a little more noticeable over-wood at the seems, but it is still a pretty nice floor as far as prefinished is concerned.

Builder grades are the lower grades of wood that any manufacturer supply's That why you pay so much less for it. It can have more knots, checks, splits mineral streaking or almost anything else you would not see in the supreme or original lines. If you like lots of charachter in your wood and don't mind culling though 10 to 20% then by all means go for it. Just depends how picky you are.

Me, I like rustic.
