I searched but could not find anything. I have the chance of buying some flooring made by Kahrs, called the Activity Floor. A dance studio closed down and they're selling it so I'm thinking about putting it in my basement for use as a dance floor :) I've never seen it in person (that I know of) but it seems great for my needs. It appears to be just like an Engineered wood in that it floats, clicks together and says it can be sanded up to 2x, but it's got energy absorbing material which should keep it warmer and lessen the hard concrete feeling. From what I've researched all I have to do is level the floor, put down a vapor barrier and click it in place.

Has anybody installed this? Any thing I should know about putting a sprung floor in a residential basement?

I have, nobody carried any samples. It's pretty specialized, I'd venture to say most people don't put sprung dance floors in their houses  Just wondering if anyone has put this in for a gym, studio etc and any feedback like it falls apart quickly or have problems installing, or it doesn't work well in basements etc. Looks like it came out in 2004 so it's a "relatively" new product.

Even if no one has samples, a Kahrs retailer should be able to order it.

Call Kahrs they should be able to direct you in the right way. Where are you located?

OK I don't think my original post clearly asked what was on my mind 8-) . The question is not WHERE to get the dance floor, but instead any experiences on installation or long term use of this particular make and model of floor OR of sprung dance floors in general.

I think its a solid idea. Khars makes a nice product. High quality construction when you compare it to most everyday 3/8 by 3 engineered floors you see most people putting in the basement. The Khars has such a stout locking system Id say disassembling and reinstalling it is very possible.

Yes, and if you left air flow around the perimeter that would help as well.

I have installed plenty of Khars but not this particualr product. I do have samples of it. Basically it's just regular Khars but it has a spacer block and a piece of foam rubber on the back of each block. It's designed to do the same thing as a sleeper system.
