Hello forum,

I'm beginning a remodel where I plan to install 3/4" Brazilian cherry throughout my first floor - including my kitchen. I had intended on keeping, and refinishing my solid wood kitchen cabinets - but I don't know what the protocol is regarding installing with cabinets already in place. There was vinyl sheeting in the kitchen before, so there will be a significant difference in the height. What are my installation options in areas where I think the 3/4" increase in height would pose potential problems - like the toe-kick area under the base cabinets, and the cavity where the diswasher is? Do I remove and raise the cabinets? Do I install wood underneath the cabinets and dishwasher, or just cut and install around them? Any experienced advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Originally every thing had the same subfloor. There is most likely 14/ ply or luan under the vinyl. Just rip that up and everything will be the same height. I usually try to remove the toekicks and then reinstall them after the floor.
