Four weeks ago I had 500 square feet of this wood installed by Lowes contracted installers. Five minutes after the installers left we found dented & cracked boards in the middle of the project. I got on my hands & knees a checked all of the boards not coverded by furniture. All furniture was moved by installers. After inspecting approx 300 square feet I found 40 boards which are scratched, dented or cracked. I then looked in the unopend boxes and found unused boards which are cracked. I contacted Lowes immediately who sent out an employee to inspect and take pictures. I am still waiting for Lowes to receive feedback from the manufacturer. Due to the amount of damaged wood I insisted the entire floor be replaced.

I believe this product is of inferior quality and am not comfortable allowing Lowes or the manufacturer to replace this wood with another Noble House product.

Has anyone had issues with wood from Noble House? Should the installers have caught this many damaged boards and not continued the job?

Reviews are all over the board on this product. I think mostly because people do not understand anything about hardwood. They think because it is cheap and maybe solid and has a 50 year warranty it is good. Same with installers and installation.

Not many people research how wood is graded either.

Where was this product manufacturer'd?

I had over 2000 square feet installed in our brand new home this summer. We have dozens of boards where the finish has cracked or completely broken apart. The areas affected all seem to be over a strong grain or knot in the wood. The manufacturer sent a 3rd party inspector to our home. He asked questions, and filed his report. He blamed install issues and environmental issues that were in contradiction to what he could plainly see in the house. I am having very little luck getting someone to take action and stand behind the product. Let me know if you have any success and who you talk to at the manufacturer (FloorCo International).

So far I've been treated great by Lowes. Lowes sent out the Asst Mgr of my local store and the owner of the install company. They all agreed the product was defective. Noble House agreed to reimburse me for all of the wood and Lowes agrred to replace the floor free of charge. My only expense so far is the cost difference of the new wood I picked out from Bruce.

Last week the installers tore out the Noble House product and will start installing the new Bruce wood. They showed me how the Noble House wood is not a solid piece of wood. The way they obtain a 5 inch board is by gluing narrower pices of wood together, so cracks are likely to develop where the boards are glueded together.

The only down side so far for me is I have not had use of my living & dining room for over three months.

I personally did not speak to Noble House, the Install Director (Ginger) from my Lowes store did all of that. My Lowes store is located in Glen Carbon, IL.

Good Luck

I had my builder's installers put the flooring in, so that probably is making it tougher to get this straightened out. Everyone is blaming someone else. Would it be possible to get some pictures of your Noble House flooring where the issues were? I wonder if the problem is the same if it would be easier to get them to remedy the situation? I'm not sure how to send a message to you via email without posting our email addresses on here, which I don't really want to do for privacy reasons. Maybe the moderator could help us with that?

Man i figured something was up with that product. I lost two or three different bids against that same floor this summer because I couldn't find a 5" x3/4 handscraped maple for no where near what they were selling it for. Not tryingto kick sand but you get what you pay for most of the time. Thats floor was selling for 3.99 iirc. comparable products from reputable manufactures are 5.50 on the low end.

Unfortunately I do not have any pics. The Lowes reps took all the pics and sent those along with a couple of cracked boards from an unused box to FloorCo International. The only thing I could think of is for you to contact my Lowes store in Glen Carbon, IL 618-655-2140. Ask for Jeff in Install Sales, he is the one who took the pics. You can tell him your looking for the pics he took in Troy, IL back in August of the defective Noble House wood.

Hope this helps
