Hello

just want to introduce myself. I am glad to found a forum like this.
I am a cabinetmaker and wooden floor installer with master degrees from Germany,
eighteen years of experience in cabinet making and nine years in parquet/wooden floors.
I prefer non tropical wood floors and engineered floors with oiled finish.
Since few weeks I try to combine japanese tatami mats/Igusa carpets with wooden floors.

Thanks

Welcome ! :D

I have never heard of that type of carpet. Is it like a Sisal ?
Do you install it? Or is it an area rug ?

Hello,

yes, it is like Sisal but much softer (like Silk) and it is an area rug.

I distribute the Tatami mats and install them into the wooden floor. (same level))

For examples have a look at these japanese sites:

Sorry for my bad english, i didn't write/speak it for more than twenty years. :?

That is quite interesting. I'm a little suprised this would sell in Germany. It looks more like a cultural thing. Maybe I'm not getting the whole picture.

Your English is great! Dont's ask me to speak German

Hi Tom,
Greetings. My family heritage runs back to the Palatinate region of Germany. My ancestor immigrated to the Americas ( not yet the USA ) in the early part of the 18th century, in 1732, via The Netherlands to Philadelphia. As you may know, there are very many Americans of German heritage here in the USA. Shoot, without Germany, there would be no good beer :D , among many other things. Glad to have you here on the HardwoodflooringTalk. forum.

Gary
