All, great board here - I've already found answers to a bunch of questions I had!

So, here are a few more:

1. I'm going to be installing some br-111 3/8" engineered flooring and some 3/4" solid flooring - is there a single stapler I can purchase which can accomodate different attachments to handle both?

2. In one room which had an extension added, we had to rip up the existing particleboard flooring and replace it with 5/8" plywood to match what was put down by the contractors. There is a slight lip where the two floors meet - less than 1/8". What's the best way to ensure a smooth transition from one part fo the room to the other?

Thanks in advance!

1.) No. There is not a stapler that will do both.

2.) Layers of felt paper tapering it as you add layers.

Thanks, FloorGuy - now, I'm looking at two different staplers - the HighPro AS4090 and the Bostich 18 or 20 gauge models - what would be better?

They are all great staplers for the thinner woods.

You'll need a 15 gauge for the ¾"

All, I just wanted to say thanks for the help - especially FloorGuy! I put my floor in over the weekend - BR111 Amendoim Triangulo Engineered - and it went extremely well and I think it looks great.

I knocked down the lip between the two floors with an edge sander and the floor went in great - here are a few pics:

Nice job! Very pro looking. Now wasn't that sorta fun? And I bet you're feeling proud of yourself. Thats good, you should. I still get that feeling when I've done a good job.
