I'm going to be installing the home depot Bruce 3/4" oak strip that I believe is 2.25 wide. I've bought the central pneumatic stapler (since its cheaper than renting). It will be going on an above grade subfloor that is 3/4 plywood on top of an old 1x6 plank subfloor (built in 1910 originally, plywood in the 90s after a fire).

My question is this, how often do I staple this material, and what length staple do I want to use (1.5, 2.0 or what)?

THanks

2 inch fasteners every 8" and no closer to the ends then 2 inches to prevent splitting
