We would like to install bamboo flooring in the house we are building. However, the installer says that bamboo is bad about splintering on the ends when you get near the wall. Is this true? I'm not sure how much experience he has with installing bamboo. Its still very new in our area.

Your installer just needs a fine tooth saw blade to prevent the cuts from splintering. If you want bamboo flooring, have your installer come here for some tips on installation.

Gary, I think he (the installer) may have been speaking about tongue splitting which is true. But your right about it splintering without a fine tooth blade.

If that's the case, then have it installed by floating it OR gluing it down. Then tongue split will not be an issue.
