Hi everyone and Merry Christmas.

Since I'll be off for a while during this holiday, thinking about doing my 2nd floor bedroom. Took out a piece of carpet last night and found that it's plywood under. Here are some question for a newbie like me.

1. Looking at 5/8"x3 3/4"x 3' horizontal bamboo, manufacture suggest nailing or glueing. I prefer to nail it down.

2. Do I need a layer of material between the plywood and the bamboo, if yes, what type?

3. For nailing, do I nail it onto every bamboo piece and where?

I've been reading on the posts here and any other recommendation is very helpful. I really appreciate all your comments. Thank you very much.

1.) OK

2.) it is recommended, to prevent squeaks associated with wood to wood and minute, movement, also a small moisture resistance, if you use 15-lb asphalt impregnated felt, as a fancy name for roofing felt.

You can use rosin paper, or even newspaper, if you don't need a little reasurance.

3.) Yes, Every piece / board. Depending on the manufacturer, most recommend every 6-8 inches and no closer then 2 inches from the ends, to keep from splitting the tongue.
