I see the installer star ratings for each engineered flooring brand name and the criteria. This is good info but who is doing the rating, how many have rated each. 20, 10 , one?
I don't want to be overly cynical but without this info it could be one person with a profit motive promoting his brand.

Thanks

You must be referring to hardwoodinstaller.com

It's actually based on what I've accumulated over the years from professionals and not consumers. Why? Consumers don't have a grasp on the actual quality. All they see is the end result. Same with folks doing the work themselves. They won't recognize the difference if they've only installed one brand. In other words, they haven't worked with the best to the worst like installers have.

It's not perfect by any means and definitely not profit motivated. I've really considered dumping it because I'm not as hands on involved in the industry as I was four years ago. You'll get a lot of opinions from the installers here on different brands. It's those guys that provide better opinions or "ratings" than what you see on eCommerce sites and anywhere else on the web. Wait. Hoskinghardwood.com is one that can be exempted. One prime example of biased opinions is Lumber Liquidators. You won't find any bad comments or ratings over there. They must have to delete a bunch of them constantly, or maybe they don't get on the site if someone rates anything below a four star.
