Hello, I'd like to have some BR-111 engineered flooring installed over a plywood subfloor with a sound deadening underlayment like Quiet Walk. According to BR-111's website, all of their engineered flooring can be floated, which is what I want. One dealer I visited said that "you cannot float the 5/16" flooring, only the Triangulo can be floated". He said it would have to be glued down, which I won't even consider, regardless of the flooring. Should I find another installer, or can I insist on a floating installation? Thanks for any advice anyone can give as I am new to world of flooring.

I was always a skeptic of floating that thinner BR111 too, but over the years we sold quite a bit of it and I never heard of any problems. It's really up to you, but if you don't have a good sound and flat subfloor you may regret it down the road.

Thanks for the feedback Ken. I thought it was strange that he didn't recommend floating the 5/16 but it was ok for the 3/8. I didn't think 1/16" would make that much of a difference. :?
