Gary,
You got it exactly right. You can really only see this a certain light angles.
So, now that everyone knows what I've got. Will it reduce resell? Will the commoner not even notice this? What would be involved in removing these 2 strips, sanding flat, and replacing?

Thanks so much guys

I say, everyone is only human. Stuff happens and that isn't that bad.

It shouldn't hurt the resell value, one bit.

Cheater...You saw the seam in the plywood with the X on it :D The flaw doesn't show up in the picture, or at least doesn't jump up at ya.

Pulling two boards and replacing them is something that isn't too tough, but three or four may be more like it. Unless you are proficient with a scraper....

I's say leave it alone..live and learn...for a rookie. I can't see it from my house.

You're holding the straight edge incorrectly. You've got it so it is ramping up the board. Place it on the top of the peak and have it so the gaps on the ends of the straight edge are equal. Then the distance from the bottom of the straight edge to the floor will be the height of your hump.

Unless you are a homeowner witholding payment because of a crappy prep job. Notice to pro installers. THis will NOT fly with a picky homeowner, no matter how you sugar coat it.

I agree. We're doing a fairly extensive remodel and I look at everything with a lot of detail. That's how I am when I do home projects, so I (unrealistically?) expect that from others. That being said. if it's my own home and my own mistake, even though it will bother me constantly, I can live with it much more than if someone else did it (and I'm supposed to pay for it).
