We just put down 3/8" red oak solid hardwood over terrazzo. An area of about 2x24. The day after it cupped. We already know that the wrong glue was used....Bruce Everbond. We are ripping it up and before we put anymore down would like to know if we use Taylor 2071 will that be correct? We are getting their test kit to test for moisture also.

Also, how long should the wood be in the area that it is going to be used? It is going in our living room and hallways. We keep the house cooled at 76. The wood has been in the room for about a week.

Thank you.

If you use Taylor 2071 on a solid, let it flash off the moisture!

Bostiks BST is a better choice, used with there MVP4 as a moisture blocker, just because it is a solid wood.

Ok, what do you mean by "flash off the moisture"?

Taylor says you can use it on thin solids and parquet. After speading the adhesive, let it sit for at least 20 minutes, maybe longer if humidity is high, to flash off the moisture in the acrylic adhesive. Don't go into it wet!

I believe it is mentioned in their specs, along with recommended trowel notch.

Terazzo is essentialy non-porous. I would urge you to use a water free adhesive over it. Whatever reaction a water based adhesive produces over concrete will be doubled over terazzo.
