Subfloor moisture content depends on the ambient humidity level of your building so it can vary.

here's a little context:

This is a new construction home, subfloors and framing installed in the winter and soaked up a lot of moisture. I just want to know when it's ok to put down the hardwood flooring. I will be performing moisture readings and curious about what target moisture content I should aim for in the subfloor.

The hardwood should be acclimated to the annual average moisture content for your geographical location. If the hardwood boards are less than 3 inches wide then the subfloor moisture content should be within 4% of the hardwood moisture content. If the hardwood boards are greater than 3 inches wide the subfloor moisture content should be within 2% of the hardwood moisture content.

Check the moisture content a couple of weeks after the heating system has been running with a program like you will have running as you were living there.

Focus more on keeping the main area that's being installed and the area below it balanced in regards to relative humidity levels. Before, during and especially after the job is done
