I live in Southwest Florida where there is alot of humidity. I want to put down hardwood floors. I would like to know whether to glue them down or float them. The flooring is terazzo and concrete currently. Also, if I glue down what will happen with the temperature changes? Thank you

I didn't see this question. Not really any concerns as long as the terrazzo is properly prepared if you choose the gluedown route. Typically it should be roughed (rotary buffing machine and "rock paper") up so the adhesive can bond better. Buffing also removes waxes that may be present.

Temperature? It's a non issue really as long as you run the AC during the warmer months, which practically everyone does except for those folks that may be in the Everglades in some of those much older cracker style houses.

I would choose gluedown. Firmer feel underfoot. However if it's a DIY job..floating...fewer potential problems.

I would float it all day long..saves the prep..it more comfortable and allows more movement and climate changes.

will also help even out al the edge of terrazzo
