We have this guy he averages about 1 call in every month,to month and a half. Same situation every time. We meet at 6:30am. He calls at 6:00_6:15 talking about he had such a bad night/morning. Next day he's fine. Usually 5 min early at my house. I understand people get sick. He's Been with us about a year, We work M-F, So he has week ends, When you have a 2 man crew (not sure if that's considered a crew) and 1 guy calls in it make for a real interesting day bringing in the big machine. Maybe I should be gateful that it's only that but do you guys have some policy you go by. Thanks
Steve

Your boss needs to ask him what the problem is. cookies, alcohol, girl friend, etc. Or maybe he just doesn't take very good care of himself and gets sick easily. Either way, every company/business needs a sick day policy that spells out what is condidered acceptable and what is excessive. Just make sure you don't injure yourself on the days you are working alone by trying to move something (the sander) that is too heavy for you. BTW, I work alone every day and move all the tools myself and I'm 56 years young  I take my time and am careful to lift properly. I dismantle my Hummel sander for transporatation. By breaking it down, it is easily carried around by one person. My least favorite part of the day is moving tools.
