we're doing a floating installation and are gluing the sides of each hardwood floor plank, as the Armstrong website told us to, however a gap has developed and gotten worse as each plank went along, i did not notice this during the setting of the planks as my brother thought gaps in hard wood flooring was "just how wood is '

im trying to remove areas where the glue has dried but i keep snapping the planks he put in.
i do not want to start the job over as we're half way done.

are there anyways to remove wood planks without snapping them?

they are floating, with the tongues and grooves glued together

Try cutting a few slits down each board you need to come out. THen chip out little by little. But since the floor is getting off square from the spacing you will need to tear out at least until the area where it started to get off track. This probably means starting over. Maybe next time use some strap clamps to hold the floor together while the glue sets up.

Thank you. that was a bitch to install, slight gappage issues i fixed with longer pieces that were warped and clamped

biggest gap is where there was water damage from a previous water leak and i needed to make room for about a dime-2 dime sized gaps which were filled with wood filler and tuxked under the base board

the stuff we used was armstrong bruce engineered hardwood and it was warped and sloppily milled, we found that out once inspecting the 3/4" hardwood milled straight

Huh? This was Bruce 3/4 inch engineered? I love manufacturers instructions that are not explicit about gapping.
