Here is my problem.

I had new hardwood floors installed two years ago. red oak strip, with oil based poly. It has 3 coats total.

On three bedrooms, I used coasters on the bed frame legs, so as to not damage the floors.

Well, I had to remove the beds(moving), and I have four stains on each bedroom. I don't know what caused them..the coaster or rust from legs.. but i idn't see rust..
Below are two pics: 1) of the coasters used. It looks like the bottom of the coaster is either rubber or plastic or a combo.
2) a smple pic of one of teh stains. If I did it right..

So far, I have used Bona Kemi cleaner, and some kitchen liquid soap, and wiped it with a slight damp cloth to no avail.

So, my questions are:

-Is there a good cleaner available to help remove the stain ?

-If the cleaners don't work, is buffing(like the pros used to give it last coat of poly--sanding lightly & then apply last coat) it and giving it another coat of poly the best option? Can this be done on the spots only, or would I have to do the entire floor ?

Thanks for your input. It is greatly appreciated.

the links are not active.

you will need to lightly sand the areas most likely..depends now how far thru the finish has turned..

it can also be that the rest of the floor has gotten lighter and the the spots remained darker..or..you discolored by putting them down before finish was actually cured.

either way....the spots wont come out with any cleaner..they need to be opened up and touched up..or room recoated

sorry. I don't know how to post the pics.

thanks for the input. I didn't move any furniture to the roms, until 1 full month befoore the last coat. So I think it hsould have been well cured. Or at least safe enough for the furniture.

Is it better to lightly sand the area of the stain until it fuly gone, and then fill it in with different poly coats on that spot only? Would that be noticeable or is it beter to coat the entire room ?

And if I coat 3 rooms, should I also coat the other areas, hallway, and another room ?
