Can anyone give me an idea as to how many staples I need to buy to do approx 450 sqft of 3/4 x 3 Braz Cherry?

I am a newbie so wasn't sure if I should buy a box of 5000 or if a few boxes of 1000 would do?

Thanks.

Do a little math.

The fasteners are placed every 8" and 2" from each end joint.

Divide the room by 3 inches. Now you know how many rows.

Then divide the room in 8" in the opposite direction. Now you know how many staples it takes to get across the room on each row, but it isn't a continuous board, and there are ends, so it throws that figure to be less then really needed. So add staples to each row for every endjoint across the room.

Now you have numbers to work with, and always add to that number for bent and unusable fasteners.

rule of thumb is 1000 per 200 sf of flooring for 21/4 on the 3" you will get a little further.
