Guyz,
Back to you again. My IPE hardwood flooring is 24" strips. Are 2 staples good enough? 6" from either end and that would make it 1 foot apart.

Thanks.

Keeping the staple that far out from the end could leave a little play in the butt joints. when and if the floor is sanded it could cause some chatter. I would go about 2-3 inches from end and one in the center.

The problem with Ipe is the tongue can crack very easily. Other people were advicing around 5 inches from each end. But then being a strip floor with exact 2 feet length, If I do 5 inches from each end, then I have only about 14 inches in between and the advice is to go for a staple 10 - 12 inches apart. So, if i were to put one in the center, then it is only 7 inches apart and I am not sure if it will this will be a problem. Any comments. Thanks for the advice.

Do some testing to find out how close you can get before you start splitting the tounge. I would think three inches would be fine personally, but each is own. Test, keep making adjustments until its right then proceed. Done.
