Hi all. I've seen all the great advice on this board and have a question of my own. I'm thinking about tackling a glue down floor install. I'll be installing 3 1/4" engineered boards. Once i have the slab prepared..about how fast can i expect to actually lay the floor. The only experience i have is few rooms of nail down and a few rooms of floating laminate.

Thanks!
Al

It took me two days to lay my first DIY glue down floor 11x11 room. 6 hours the first day and probably 4 the next. I takes some time to get used to using the glue that then leads to some extra cleanup/wipe up time. Also I spent a lot of time running back and forth to the miter saw.

Thanks for the response. I saw your project in the photo gallery and it looks great. I've got some more questions about it...can i e-mail you directly about it? My e-mail address is roderonner@netzero.net
Thanks,
Al

As a pro, that 11 x 11 room would have taken me less then a full 8 hour day, and then to come back the next morning to pull blue tape and wipe down any missed glue smudges on the surface. Then install the trim, if they requested it in the proposal.

I'll be more than happy to share my experiences, etc. However I'm not an expert and you'll get better advise from pros like floorguy.
