I heard that they can last forever but I know that is not realistic. Does that mean that they last longer than an average persons lifespan? Can anybody give me a ballpark number of years they think hardwood floors could last if maintained properly the entire time?

Thanks

Solid hardwood 3/4" can be sanded professionally up to 8 times with up to 15-20 years of life for each refinishing. 125-150 years. We sand original floors in houses from the late 1800s regularly. Engineered or laminates expect 15 years max, with the rare possibility of being refinished.
