I was once told that the humidity level for hardwood floors should be between 35 and 50 all the time. This winter even with my humidifier on my furnace going all the time my house has gotten down to a humidity level of 20. Is this safe for my BC engineered floors? I am wondering if I should get a stand alone humidifier to get the humidity up in my house. Do you think that it is necessary?

If so what type of damage could occur with a low humidity level?

I posted this question a little earlier, but I think I did it wrong because the system said I had a reply but I could not find one, so I am posting again.

Any wood MIGHT crack from being too dry.
