Hello All,

Can you guys please give me sugguestions on how to start 3/4" x 3 1/2" prefinished hardwood on stairs. I came up with the following but not sure if I am on the right track.

1. Start with the riser first and fit tight against the two sides.
2. Next go to the landing and leave gaps for expansion then install base board.
3. Do the tread and then the nosing, fit them tight against the two sides.

I will be doing one step at a time. All these planks will be glue and blind nails, but I am not sure what type of glue to use.

Please give me your comments and sugguestions. Thank you in advance.

Thanks Gary, and yes it is an excellent tutorial. I am not sure if I understand this correctly, it appears to me he installed one step at a time, working from the bottom riser first then nosing and tread. Then 2nd riser sitting on top of the bottom tread, Am I right?

That is how it is done. I dry fit everything before I start gluing and nailing.
