My foyer is hardwood and joins the living room which is carpet. I wish to install the same hardwood in the living room, how do I "finger in" the new hardwood to the foyer? Are there any guides online?

I was thinking of setting my circular saw to a sallow depth and splitting the pieces that need to be removed.
