I'm using WS Viva by Loba on natural red oak floors that I sanded down. It's made in Germany and suppose to be very, very good -- at least according to the hardwood floor supply store where I purchased the product.

So far I've got two coats of the poly down and so far it looks good.

I know the finish will get richer as I add more coats (I'm planning to do another two coats) but I'm thinking that I would like to add a little more depth and richness by adding a bit of brown tint to the poly. I've seen a few posts in the forum about tinting the poly but no information as to how to do it.

Can anyone supply any further information on how to do that? Of course I will do some tests before going all in.

Thanks

Your biggest concern is going to be leaving streaks and applicator marks. You shall have to use the applicator, then go over it again with a cut in pad to even out the streaks and applicator marks. Yes, that is done on all fours, without leaving fuzzy hair and sweat. If you sweat onto the water based finish, or your face mask condenses and drops drips, it will be there to stay and hard to fix. The process is only recommended if you are staying within a certain neighborhood of hues. Will be more difficult otherwise. Loba is supposed to be primo stuff, though I have not used it. Experimental stuff. Good luck.
