I have round electric outlet of 4" in diameter on the floor. The height is about 1/2". What is the best way to deal with it? Making a nice round cut of plank is very difficult, of course.

does the plate sit on top of the floor or will it be flush to the floor surface?

either way it has to be cut.. with a jig or bandsaw...not gonna find a 4" hole saw that I know of..

The link is a photo of my situation. I hoped I can find a square cover for it.

The only way to get the cuts perfect is to first rough cut your diameter and then finish the cuts off with a spindle sander . This is how guitars are built (used to be built)

Also, when racking out the floor, probably rack it with the intent of working away from the outlet versus working towards it.

you can get holes saws that big or they make adjustable hole cutters.

Thanks to everybody.

I had hoped I don't need to buy an expensive tool I will use only once. A cover is the preferred solution, but may not be available.
