Hi all,

I'm wanting to convert 1879 square feet into linear feet. 1879 sqft is the area for which I'm going to install (float method) hardwood flooring. The glue for the tongue and grove is sold in 16oz bottles and is stated to cover 100-125 linear feet. I'm trying to estimate how many bottles to purchase.

:?:

Thanks in advance!

you can do it per bundle. take a measurement of how long each bundle is (average of 7ft) then take that times number of boards across, then times number of rows down, then times how many bundles you have.

If it was 2 1/4 it would be

7(foot bundles) x 3(rows across) x 5(rows down) x 94(bundles)

9807 ln ft

But you are most likely using a 6-8 inch wide product, thats only 3-4 ft long. I could figure it out, But i need more information.

okay, how long are the bundels? How many rows and colums in each bundle, and how many bundles?

yes carton etc. if its 5 inches wide, every 1 ft of length is ROUGHly .5 sqft for quick guestimates anyway. It didnt really tell me too much about the floor itself :( and its comming from chicago

This should work to find out the linear feet of tongues to glue

(12 inch / board width) * the square footage = linear ft

or in your case

(12in / 5in) * 1879 sq ft = 4509.6 linear ft
