My floor is part hardwood and part carpet. I want to replace the carpet with hardwood. There is a T molding that runs perpendicular to the hardwood strips separating the wood and the carpet. (The ends that join the T molding are cut in a straight line). What should I do to make final floor look like it's 1 piece instead of 2? Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Cut out some of the existing boards back to the stagger, and then reweave the new flooring in.

Ken had some pictures up on this website, not the picture section here on the message board, to show the steps needed.

Thanks for the response.
Can the boards be removed? I'm trying to get my husband to do it and he said it's not possible because of the type of nails used on the boards(he's pretty handy but he's never done flooring before).
I can't find Ken's pictures on this website. Do you know where they are?

I would put in a feature strip and run the center on a 45 much easier and custom looking, lacing in exsisiting floors is not what I would consider a first time floor project.
