I have posted this somewhere else on this site but don't know if it was right form. My water heater busted and now my dinning room floor is buckled in a area and there is water damage also. the insurance co is only wanting to do patch work to replace the damaged part and sand the rest. I was wondering will this match? The Hardwood is the org. floor's house built in late 60's early 70's. The insurance man said the floor is your standard 3/8 white pine top nail and the floor has been sanded once that I know of because my husband did it. (whatever that is). So my question is can this be matched up to the other floors. And what should I do if it can't be.

That’s what it is going the cost you to match up that old white pine.
Most likely you will have to get what we call reclaimed flooring. To match it. First you really need to see if it does need to be replaced or can you just sand it. If it does need to be replace find yourself a good flooring company that knows what they are doing. We always like getting a couple of samples and shipping them out just to make sure on what kind of wood it is. All because one person (NOT A FLOOR GUY) said it is this, it might not be that. Be on the safe side and find a good company.

Jeff

good luck
