I have engineered Maple planks that have an area with a hollow spot that is raised. When you step on it it won't give at all. The installer said he can't replace the boards because they are so tight together that he wouldn't be able to fit them back in. He wants to drill and fill, but I'm afraid the boards still won't flatten out. What do you think? Also, I have a scratch on a board, any way to fix it. It is Mirage, cashmere finish, natural Maple.
