I am getting ready for my first DIY hardwood install project. I'll be installing 400 sq.ft. of 3/4" solid brazillian cherry. My plywood subfloor is nailed to the joists about every 4-5 inches. I am wondering if I need to be concerned about hitting these subfloor nails while nailing down the flooring. The sub floor will be covered by felt paper making it even harder to know where the subfloor nails are.

I'll be using a pneumatic Powernailing w/ 2" cleats. This may be a paranoid, silly question but should I be concerned about nailing into another nail in the subfloor and getting nails ricocheting around?

Thanks.

It rarely happens but does happen occasionally. Then you just deal with it. If the cleat bends or comes back around through the face, you just fix it. Don't worry, be happy! :D
